Job Description
Central Employment are currently recruiting for a Group Finance Manager on behalf of a high-growth Manufacturing business headquartered in Sunderland initially on a 12 month fixed term basis. Reporting into the Senior Finance Leadership Team, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate group reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring financial compliance across all business units. The successful Group Finance Manager will have significant senior stakeholder exposure to lead the Finance Team through consolidation and audits.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the monthly consolidation of group results, reviewing business unit submissions, intercompany eliminations, and preparing consolidation journals.
* Lead the group audit being the primary point of contact with the external Auditors
* Produce accurate and timely Group Management Accounts, including detailed P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reporting.
* Support new IFRS and country/UK reporting requirements by providing support and guidance
* Support internal and external stakeholders with high-quality financial reports, including group leadership, investors, and banking partners.
* Coordinate the monthly forecasting process, including covenant tracking and variance analysis.
* Drive the preparation of group-wide budgets, scenario planning, and financial modelling.
* Partner with site finance teams to ensure compliance with group policies and consistency in financial reporting.
* Support year-end audit processes, including the audit of the consolidated group accounts.
* Contribute to acquisition accounting, financial integration of new entities, and synergy tracking.
* Develop and maintain group accounting policies, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
Ideal Candidate
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with strong post-qualification experience in group reporting and consolidation.
* A background in audit, financial reporting, or group finance within a complex, multi-entity structure.
* Previous experience of leading a team of both qualified and part qualified Accountants
* Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
* Strong understanding of IFRS/UK GAAP and technical accounting standards.
* Experience in acquisition accounting including ownership and redesign of goodwill impairment models
* Previous experience in both statutory audits and liquidation audits
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and drive performance insights.
* Confident user of financial systems and Excel; experience in financial modelling is highly desirable.
