Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Product Design Engineer to lead our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the leadership and undertaking of design, research, development, and implementation of product development projects. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
Team Leader: Lead and manage the Product Development team, overseeing performance, resource planning, and alignment with business goals while reporting to the Technical Director, driving continuous improvement, talent development, and effective team collaboration.
Product Development: Lead full-cycle product development—concept, design, prototyping, testing, and costing—using data and customer insights to validate decisions and deliver effective, quality solutions.
Customer & Market Insight: Gather and analyse feedback from distributors and end users to inform design improvements and identify new opportunities.
Data-Driven Engineering: Use performance, usage, and market data to guide design choices, solve issues, and measure impact of changes.
Project & Compliance Management: Manage bespoke product requests from concept to delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely execution.
Technology & Market Awareness: Monitor emerging technologies and competitor activity to influence future product direction and maintain competitiveness.

What You Will Bring
•Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
•5+ years' experience in product development or engineering support (strong less-experienced candidates with the right mindset will be considered)
•Proven ability to lead or take ownership of development projects from concept to completion
•Experience with 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; MRP/ERP experience in manufacturing is a plus
•Confident in preparing clear, concise technical documentation
