The Birmingham Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and technically confident individual as a Safeguarding Adults Officer. This specialist role offers the chance to work at the heart of a statutory board, shaping strategic initiatives that protect adults with care and support needs from abuse and neglect. This is not a frontline case management role—instead, you’ll drive strategic projects, coordinate subgroups, and ensure the smooth delivery of events, conferences, and communications. Strategic focus – policy development, procedures, audits, annual reports, and dashboards Multi-agency collaboration with police, NHS, and local authority partners Prevention-driven – supporting initiatives that safeguard vulnerable adults Key Responsibilities: Lead and support subgroups/task & finish groups to deliver board priorities and projects against the strategic workplan Organise and run events, including venue liaison, presentations, and contingency planning Manage communications and engagement, including newsletters, website updates, and publicity materials Demonstrate technical confidence with Microsoft Office, Forms, Sway, Eventbrite, and back-office systems What We’re Looking For Sound understanding of safeguarding adults and experience of multi-agency partnership working Up-to-date knowledge of adult safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures Experience in business planning, audits, annual reports, and dashboard management Ability to prioritise a diverse workload and lead multidisciplinary projects Strong analytical skills to interpret complex, sensitive, and contentious information Confident event organiser and communicator High level and effective IT skills across Microsoft Office packages and relevant digital platforms Flexibility to be able to work in locations where needed.
