Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is skilled in framing problems and setting priorities for delivery teams working on Government Digital Service (GDS) projects. Working to GDS standards, you will influence and provide direction on product development to ensure the creation of consistent, user-friendly end-to-end government digital services.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including delivery managers, user researchers, service designers, and technical leads to define and prioritise a product roadmap and ensure delivery of successful outcomes. The role involves making evidence-based strategic and tactical product decisions, owning the product roadmap, communicating product success to stakeholders, and defending controversial decisions about your product. You will have experience with product management techniques and frameworks.
Responsibilities
* Frame problems and set priorities for delivery teams on Government Digital Service (GDS) projects
* Define and prioritise a product roadmap; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outcomes
* Make evidenced-based strategic and tactical product decisions
* Develop product strategy and vision; own the product roadmap; communicate success to stakeholders
* Defend controversial product decisions and apply product management techniques and frameworks
Qualifications
* Agile working. Expertise in Agile and Lean practices; coach and lead teams through the project lifecycle; navigate legislative or commercial constraints
* Product ownership. Ability to create and own an end-to-end product roadmap; prioritise the backlog; collaborate with research to understand user needs; promote best practices across agile teams
* Financial ownership. Accountable for realising project benefits; secure funding; manage scope within budget and deadlines
* Stakeholder and problem management. Identify stakeholders; tailor communications; build relationships; use evidence to build consensus
* Operational management. Improve operational efficiency; act as escalation point for major issues; collaborate with operational delivery leaders
