We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our specialist team at Oscott Manor School, a community special school for learners aged 11–19 with autism and associated needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver an engaging and practical curriculum that develops pupils’ confidence, independence and essential life skills.
You will plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons in a well-equipped food technology setting, carefully adapting learning to meet a wide range of abilities. The role includes embedding key skills such as communication, numeracy and personal development, while promoting high expectations within a structured, supportive environment.
We are looking for a reflective practitioner with a strong commitment to inclusion, excellent classroom management skills and, ideally, experience within SEN or vocational education. You will play a vital role in preparing young people for adulthood, employment and greater independence.
About the school

The school ethos, grounded in the values of Ready, Respectful and Safe, reflects their belief in nurturing pupils’ talents and helping them develop confidence, independence and skills for life.
They pride themselves on delivering a creative, broad and ambitious curriculum that combines classroom learning with real-life experiences, including employability and vocational options for older learners. Working closely with families and multi-disciplinary professionals, they tailor learning to individual strengths and needs, aiming to empower pupils toward future independence and meaningful community participation.
