Are you ready to lead in one of Scotland’s most advanced ophthalmology units?
We’re offering an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role as Principal Optometrist, covering maternity leave in our state-of-the-art Eye Centre. You’ll head up a talented team of Optometrists within a vibrant, multi-disciplinary environment, supporting pre-operative assessments and independently managing post-operative reviews for cataract surgery patients.
Our Ophthalmology service is the largest in Scotland and continues to grow. The Eye Centre is purpose-built around an innovative patient pathway, integrating the expertise of healthcare assistants, ophthalmic technicians, nurses, optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. We’re equipped with cutting-edge technology including OCT, Topography, Specular Microscopy, Ultrasound, and digital slit lamps, all designed to support high-volume cataract surgery and meet rising national demand over the next 15 years.
Located on the scenic banks of the River Clyde, our unit offers stunning views of the Finnieston Crane and beyond—just steps from the main hospital entrance.
