An opportunity has arisen for us to recruit two Mechanical Technicians within the Production Team at EP Langage Ltd. The role of the Technician is to plan and carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the key responsibilities and duties will include but not limited to:
* Executing routine and non-routine maintenance activities in accordance with agreed procedures and operational requirements to ensure plant is operating safely, effectively and efficiently, whilst ensuring safe working practices and procedures are adhered to within the work area.
* Carrying out first line maintenance activities, with response to emergency / unscheduled situations in the event of abnormal incidents in order to protect plant and personnel ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies.
* Investigating complex technical problems relating to critical plant, identifies, diagnoses and reports defects within the plant utilizing the Maintenance Management system, ensuring defects are resolved whilst maintaining station performance and reliability, meeting operational targets by returning plant to normal operating service.
* Preparing work method statements, risk assessment and / or plant operating instructions ensuring the required level of maintenance to asset is achieved and records maintained.
* Using the site maintenance management system SAP, prepare work orders; ordering spares; completing risk assessments and identification of resources - which includes the identification of contractors from an approved list, compilation of their work specifications, monitoring of work standards on-site, conduct with respect to Health, Safety and Environmental issues and conducting a review of the quality of work on completion.
* Providing practical, disciplined leadership for all work under their control, carrying out the delegated person responsibility to ensure that all engineering and Health, Safety and Environmental practices on-site are in full compliance with the Langage Business Management System.
* Act as technical specialist for designated ‘Plant Area Responsibilities'.
* Provides Service Support functions to the Operations Department and ensures defects and status of any maintenance activity is effectively communicated to the shift teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
* Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment including pumps, valves, hydraulics & pneumatics - essential.
* Maintenance management and planning system experience (SAP) - essential.
* Demonstrable experience within the power generation or similar process industry - desirable.

* Completed a recognised formal training programme or apprenticeship to achieve technician status (C&G parts I, II and III) - essential.
* HNC/ONC or equivalent in an engineering subject - desirable.
