Receptionist (Part-Time, Temporary) - Preston Our client, a reputable public sector organisation based in Preston, is hiring a friendly and professional Receptionist for a 6-month temporary contract, with potential for extension. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, supporting vital community services. What you'll be doing: * Greet visitors and callers professionally, both face-to-face and via phone/email. * Log arrivals and departures, notify relevant staff, and issue visitor passes and security fobs. * Handle enquiries related to the Probation Service and local support services, referring complex questions to managers. * Manage petty cash, including paying bus fares/travel warrants and transporting cash between sites. * Log and follow up on building faults, and conduct weekly panic and fire alarm tests. * Support admin tasks such as updating confidential records and producing documentation. * Support the admin team as needed, with training provided on internal systems. What you'll bring: * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Strong IT skills and confidence in handling enquiries. * Receptionist experience is advantageous. * Ability to work on a rota basis, including some late nights until 9pm, a few times per week but not every week. * A professional, approachable manner and attention to detail.
