We require a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Practitioner, who is inquisitive and enthusiastic about Continence Management and is able to work autonomously.
To work without direct supervision within the clearly defined boundaries of your competencies and carry out specific delegated clinical tasks and responsibilities, prioritising work in line with policies and procedures.
There are educational opportunities linked to role and the scope of Continence Management, this is a pivotal role requiring you to work collaboratively with the Continence Specialists Nurses, wider MDT and our patient community.
Promoting the highest standards of care in line with the latest guidance, research and information.
With appropriate information to help support of our Continence Specialist Nurses, there is much that patients can do to help themselves in the management and control of their condition.
This role will require you to support with educating our patients to self care, in the management and control of their condition, provide advice and support is now at the forefront of care.
Setting/AreaCovered: home setting, including residential, nursing homes and clinics.

Main duties of the job
The Assistant Practitioner will work as partof a team delivering therapeutic intervention, health and social care thatfocuses on the direct needs of the patients/service users. They will carry outspecific planned clinical tasks and responsibilities to facilitate, assessment,treatment, planning and evaluation of patients in a specific clinical team.
The post holder will work independently withintheir defined scope of practice under the delegation and guidance of aregistered professional. Applying specialist evidence-based knowledge ofprinciples and procedures within a specific field of healthcare.
Assistant Practitioners have undertaken abroad range of theoretical and practical learning regarding healthcare andwellbeing to Foundation Degree level.
Demonstrate and apply knowledge of the scope ofpractice of the Assistant Practitioner role within own clinicalsettings.
The post holder can deliver elements of health andsocial care and undertake clinical work in the domains that have previouslyonly been within the remit of registered professionals. The role at times may transcend professionalboundaries.
The Assistant Practitioner will have a level ofautonomy and accountability to make decisions around patient care and refer onto other professionals where required.
