Our client in the Space sector is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a 12 month contract that may extend. The role will be outside IR35. The position is hybrid: onsite at least one week per month.
Responsibilities
* Design spacecraft components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
* Perform structural, thermal, and thermoelastic analyses (FEA).
* Develop test fixtures and ground support equipment.
* Support satellite assembly, environmental testing, and manufacturing.
* Conduct peer reviews, documentation, and production support.
Required Skills and Experience
* Excellent CAD and drafting skills (SolidWorks).
* Familiarity with FEA tools (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation).
