Lifestyles Residential Services is seeking passionate and experienced Residential Social Workers to join our dedicated team at our 2-bed childrens home in Dromore, Co. Down. This large, detached property provides a safe, nurturing environment for two young people aged 712 who have experienced trauma and require medium to long-term residential care. At Lifestyles, we provide individualised, trauma-informed therapeutic services to support young people in care. Job Purpose As a Residential Social Worker, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe and therapeutic environment where young people can feel valued, supported, and encouraged. You will focus on developing strong, trusting relationships, identifying strengths, assessing needs, and applying innovative strategies to help each young person thrive. Key Responsibilities Use trauma-informed and person-centred approaches to support young people in achieving positive, measurable outcomes. Take the lead in managing more complex cases, providing expert insight and oversight. Collaborate with external partners including childrens services, health professionals, and community agencies to ensure wraparound support for each young person and their family. Promote a culture of safeguarding and uphold child protection procedures at all times. Contribute to a high-performing, reflective team culture committed to quality practice, continuous improvement, and positive change. What we require: Essential: Degree in Social Work (AYE Students are welcome to apply). Registered with the relevant professional body before your employment starts (e.g. NISCC) A full UK driving license Desirable: Awareness of challenges which may impact vulnerable children and young people Knowledge of personal, social and educational development Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Experience of direct work with children and young people who present with challenging behaviours Experience of applying safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. Skills/Abilities Ability to listen to and communicate effectively with children and young people Ability to work as part of a team. Possess the necessary skills to factually and clearly record daily records Ability to write reports and produce other management information Ability to lead a shift when required Ability to analyse and resolve problems or challenges children and young people experience Lifestyles adheres to the Access NI Code of Practice; a copy of the policy be made available to you upon request.
