We are looking to recruit a UK Necropsy Manager which can be based at either Huntingdon - Cambridgeshire, Harrogate – North Yorkshire or Eye - Suffolk.
The UK Necropsy Manager’s role is to direct and supervise the Necropsy team (6 direct reports and 10-80 indirect reports). The Manager also ensures all processes are carried out according to relevant regulatory and quality standards, and are conducted efficiently and cost-effectively.
Job Responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the smooth daily operation of the department through active participation, decision-making, delegation, and empowerment.
* Maintaining quality and timeliness of all services to meet or exceed Labcorp and customer requirements.
* Ensuring adherence to scientific standards of excellence and compliance with GLP standards.
* Liaising with clients, hosting visits, and regulatory inspections.
* Implementing quality measurement programs to achieve departmental and divisional quality goals.
* Managing the training and development of staff, maintaining accurate training records.
* Coordinating interdepartmental cross-training activities.
* Overseeing development of new methodologies with Pathology and scientists.
* Participating in scientific paper presentations and establishing scientific reputation.
* Controlling departmental budget and resource allocation.
* Reviewing annual costing metrics.
* Ensuring safety compliance among personnel.
* Leading process improvements regionally and globally.
* Addressing animal care concerns and implementing corrective actions.
Skills and experience:
* Extensive experience in drug development and supervisory roles.
* Experience in Necropsy or Histology preferred.
* Strong team-building skills.
* Knowledge of planning, negotiation, and process innovation.
* Effective communication skills in English.
* Ability to travel and relocate if necessary; no public transport links at some sites.
