 
        
        We are seeking a reliable and proficient social housing joiner to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who takes pride in their workmanship and possesses a sensitive, customer:focused approach, working on a variety of domestic properties within the social housing sector around Durham.
The Role:
As a social housing joiner, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor installation works within occupied and void domestic properties.
 * Reactive Repairs: Responding to and resolving various joinery:related issues in tenants homes, including door and window repairs, frame adjustments, floorboard repairs, and general timber maintenance.
 * Planned Maintenance: Carrying out scheduled works such as fitting new internal/external doors, skirting boards, architraves, kitchen unit repairs, and minor roofline works.
 * Kitchen and Bathroom: Carrying out repairs to kitchen units, worktops, and bathroom furniture; occasional minor installations or adaptations.
 * Security Works: Repairing or replacing doors and windows following break:ins or damage.
 * Customer Service: Interacting respectfully and professionally with tenants, providing updates and ensuring minimal disruption.
 * Diagnosing faults and proposing effective solutions.
 * Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, safely, and in line with relevant regulations.
 * Completing necessary paperwork and job sheets accurately.
 * Managing van stock and materials efficiently.
Role Requirements:
 * Proven experience as a joiner, with extensive experience in domestic repairs and maintenance, specifically within social housing (desirable).
 * NVQ Level 2/3 in joinery and carpentry or equivalent recognised qualification.
 * Valid CSCS card.
 * Full UK driving licence and own reliable transport.
 * Asbestos awareness, manual handling and working at height. 
 * Strong problem:solving skills and ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to tenants.
 * Reliable, punctual, and a professional attitude.
 * Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
