42.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm including 60 minutes for lunch/breaks
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
Bonus: Bonus scheme entitlement following satisfactory probation period
Position Summary
This is a key position with executive responsibility for running the day-to-day operations of a large multi-customer single site warehouse.
The role has a strong focus on people management, problem solving, and maintaining an efficient, accurate and safe working environment, all measured against key performance targets.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring all orders are fulfilled on time, stock is well-managed, and the warehouse team is motivated, trained, and supported in delivering high performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee the picking, packing, and despatch of all customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
* Manage the receipt, checking, and put-away of all inbound stock, ensuring efficient storage and full traceability.
* Drive day-to-day stock control activities, including:
Ongoing stock checks
Creation of new stock locations and product allocations
Use of technology platform for stock movements and audits
Team Management & Development
* Lead, coach and develop a team of 10+ warehouse operatives
* Set and delegate daily workloads, including customer orders, replenishment, and goods-in tasks
* Generate weekly KPI's for Directors
* Monitor productivity, accuracy, and performance KPIs with Directors
* Deliver regular team briefings and 1-1 sessions to support communication and alignment
* Conduct all appraisals, capability reviews, and, where needed, disciplinary procedures
* Work closely with directors on recruitment and onboarding of new team members
* Manage holiday and leave requests, ensuring sufficient cover for operational continuity
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
* Act as the first point of escalation for warehouse challenges, proactively resolving issues and implementing long-term improvements
* Collaborate with office staff to ensure efficient planning of inbound shipments, container booking, and overtime needs
* Identify and remove operational bottlenecks, using feedback from the team to suggest process improvements
* Maintain & foster a culture of responsibility, accountability, and mutual support
Warehouse Standards & Health and Safety Compliance
* Ensure the warehouse is kept organised, clean, and safe at all times
* Take reasonable care of personal and team health & safety; escalate concerns or incidents promptly
* Ensure compliance with all company procedures and warehouse best practices
* Oversee the regular removal of waste and recycling, and maintain a tidy, hazard-free environment
