Our client based in Lymington has a new opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their busy manufacturing team.
The primary function of the role is to ensure, through the design, development and maintenance of manufacturing processes, all products are manufactured efficiently and consistently to meet their specification and the business needs, according to current procedures and using the appropriate technology. The main duties will include:
Design, document, and implement processes and systems to facilitate the efficient manufacture of new and existing products.
Maintain and support current products and manufacturing processes.
Support the Research & Development team in the development of new products so they are economic to manufacture.
Lead the transfer to production of new products and implementation of product changes.
Create and maintain assembly Work Instructions and other procedures.
Provide communication and training on new and modified processes.
Lead and work on projects with multidisciplinary team members to ensure effective delivery of goals.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
Encourage & support continuous improvement efforts throughout the organisation .
Keep abreast of relevant industry advances and champion their introduction.
Collect, analyse, summarise and present production and process data, information and trends to management.
Estimate staffing requirements, production times and costs to provide data for operational decisions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory approvals, quality standards, and similar.
Applicants must be Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Production, Manufacturing, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering and will need a minimum of 5 years experience in a modern manufacturing environment, ideally involving electronics, software, and mechanical systems.
You will possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and have a solid understanding of electronics, with proficiency in working with software systems and databases.
It would be a distinct advantage if you have a good knowledge of electronics, including fault finding, certification and experience in process improvement (Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma) and the ability to interpret and edit software (e.g. Python, AutoIt) and work with databases.
This is a full time, permanent, site-based position, you will work 37.50 standard hours from Monday to Friday with some flexibility on start and finish times. There is an immediate start available for the right candidate and a salary of up to £50, per annum dependent on skills and experience.
