The successful candidate will assume a direct clinical role within the department, sharing all facilities equally with the existing consultants. This is a full-time permanent post (11 PAs) for a General Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Medical retinal diseases / Uveitis. The appointee will join 32 Consultant Ophthalmologists already in place. The role involves working 11 PAs per week, including an 8 DCC and 2 SPA split (flexible working may be considered), with additional activities to be discussed. The successful applicant is expected to participate actively in the consultant on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide theatre cover as specified.
2. Deliver ophthalmic services according to the agreed timetable and job plan.
3. Provide trust-wide 1 in 10 on-call cover.
4. Supervise trainee staff within the trust.
