Offer description

We are looking for someone to join our team who is located in the following area: London South [Essex, Kent, Hampshire, Surrey]. We are seeking passionate individuals to work in the National Counter Trafficking Centre as ‘As and When’ workers. Are you ready to improve the lives of young people affected by modern slavery? Do you have experience in Immigration, Social Care, or Criminal Justice? If yes, we want to hear from you!

We are recruiting for an ‘As and When’ contract. This role supports service delivery and provides cover during periods of increased demand, including weekends and school holidays. The role may involve working directly with children, delivering training, facilitating group work, or covering on-call duties—various activities as needed. Hours are flexible, based on your availability.

This position is home-based with potential for extensive weekly travel across our delivery sites in London or South regions. Candidates must have a confidential space to work from. The service offers a comprehensive induction and training program. You will be part of a large, multidisciplinary team working alongside passionate and experienced colleagues.

Applicants must have a current driving license and access to a car or be able to manage extensive travel via public transport.

Responsibilities of the Independent Child Trafficking Guardian:

1. Support for children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working with other professionals to ensure appropriate support.
2. Assist professionals such as Social Workers, Police, Youth Justice Teams, Foster Carers, and Residential Support Workers to identify and refer exploited children.
3. Provide advice and guidance on child trafficking and safety planning through 1:1 consultations and multi-agency meetings.
4. Develop initial needs assessments and action plans.
5. Support practitioners from partner agencies to meet the needs of trafficked children.
6. Manage a caseload of supported young people, working within service KPIs and Home Office guidance.
7. Engage with children through face-to-face contact and online platforms using creative methods.
8. Identify safeguarding concerns and work with staff to ensure a robust safeguarding response.

This role will run alongside our current contract, which expires on 31 March 2026. When applying, please refer to your skills, knowledge, and experience in relation to the Person Specification, Job Description, and Additional Information document.

Note: Due to high application volumes, this advert may close early, and geographical areas may change as vacancies are filled. We recommend applying promptly.
