About Smiles Dental Care Smiles Dental Care is part of a well-established dental group with 100 surgeries across 35 practices throughout Northern Ireland and the North West of England. Our Ballymena practice provides high-quality NHS and private dentistry, including general dentistry, cosmetic treatments, implants, aligners, and restorative care. The Role This role is ideal for a Dental Nurse who enjoys working as part of a close-knit clinical team and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care. You will be actively involved chairside, supporting clinicians across a wide range of treatments while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit. Full-time or part-time hours available Working hours between 8:00am and 7:00pm Clinical days Monday to Saturday Position initially offered on a zero-hour contract, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role Final working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Chairside Support Providing high-quality chairside assistance to dentists during procedures Preparing surgeries, instruments, and materials before and after treatments Ensuring strict adherence to cross-infection control and decontamination protocols Patient Care Welcoming and reassuring patients before, during, and after treatment Providing post-operative instructions and oral health advice Supporting nervous or anxious patients with a calm, professional approach Clinical Administration Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical notes Assisting with digital charting, radiographs, and clinical software systems Supporting consent processes and compliance with CQC/GDC standards Practice Support Stock control and equipment checks Supporting the wider team to ensure smooth daily clinic operations What We’re Looking For Essential: GDC-registered Dental Nurse Experience: Previous experience in a dental practice preferred Skills: Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach Technical Confidence: Comfortable using dental software and digital systems Team Player: Reliable, proactive, and positive with a strong work ethic What We Offer Competitive Salary: dependent on experience Professional Development: opportunities for training and career progression Modern Working Environment: digitally equipped surgeries and up-to-date systems Supportive Team Culture: friendly, professional, and patient-centred Flexible Working Options: full-time or part-time hours available Ready to Apply?
