The role
The Pensions Investment Team works with both corporate sponsors and trustee boards, advising on investment strategy, investment governance, delegation models, delegated (FM/OICO) manager selections, and health checks of existing delegated arrangements. While the focus is investment consulting, there are also opportunities to contribute to wider pensions-related projects, including risk transfer and data-driven initiatives across PwC.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on dynamic and high-impact investment projects, engaging directly with senior stakeholders and contributing to innovative solutions for our clients. You will play a key role in shaping investment strategies, supporting research initiatives, and delivering meaningful insights that drive better outcomes. With exposure to both strategic decision-making and technical execution, this role provides a diverse and rewarding experience within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
What your days will look like:
1. Manage and deliver investment consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes, working with the broader client team.
2. Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, providing clear and insightful advice.
3. Collaborate with team members to develop innovative insightful solutions.
4. Contribute to PwC-led research, supporting our knowledge base and expertise in the delegated investment space.
5. Support and guide junior team members, helping them develop their technical and consulting skills.
6. Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively support client needs and get involved in broader pensions-related projects, including risk transfer and data analytics
This role is for you if:
7. Strong understanding of UK Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes, technical investment experience, and governance frameworks.
8. Experience advising trustee boards and/or corporate sponsors on investment-related matters.
9. Meaningful familiarity with the pensions and investment industry and the regulatory environment.
10. Progress towards or attainment of FIA (Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation.
11. Familiarity with data analytics tools and their application in pensions and investment.
