Overview
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the Waitrose quality produce and Partner-led service to customers’ doors. You’ll support a friendly, service-driven ethos: passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you’ll help at the shop with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a welcoming team. This role requires you to be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
* Checking your delivery routes for the day.
* Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
* Ensuring all vehicle safety checks are completed, maintaining full road compliance and health and safety.
* Being an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with customer service as your number one priority.
* Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
* Supporting the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
* Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Great customer service skills.
* Time management skills.
* Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
* Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self-motivated and adaptable.
* IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.
