As a System Services Engineer, you will provide specialized technical support across development, installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle services for Baker Hughes subsea oil and gas controls technologies. The role acts as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring safe, reliable, and high‑quality operation of control systems, and associated hydro-mechanical/electrical auxiliary systems.
As a System Services Engineer, you be responsible for:
System Installation & Commissioning:
1. Support installation, commissioning, and configuration of BH control systems, software, and associated equipment for subsea oil and gas control systems.
2. Execute startup of control panels, calibration, sequencing, and functional acceptance system testing.
Maintenance & Technical Support
3. Support conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on subsea oil and gas control systems
4. Troubleshoots complex technical issues involving instrumentation, electrical systems, software controls, or hydro-mechanical interactions.
5. Performs inspections and diagnostic tasks such as system tuning, and equipment testing.
Customer & Project Interaction
6. Serves as the primary onsite or offshore technical contact, providing engineering guidance and ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
7. Prepare detailed service notes, technical reports, and documentation of field activities.
8. Support site teams, subcontractors, and customer personnel, ensuring compliance with operational and HSE requirements.
Operational Excellence & Safety
9. Follow all Baker Hughes and customer HSE standards, ensuring safe execution of field tasks and risk assessments.
10. Provide recommendations to improve system reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle performance.
To be successful in this role, you will:
11. Have a Degree in Systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hydro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
12. Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, or commissioning of industrial control systems is strongly preferred.
13. Proven capability in troubleshooting software control systems, sequencing logic, and industrial automation
14. Understanding of subsea oil and gas equipment such subsea controls modules, subsea electrical modules, electrical and hydraulics harness
15. Ability to create, update and interpret technical drawings, specifications, test procedures and system schematics.
16. Strong communication and customer‑facing skills for onsite support activities.
17. Ability to work independently and within multi‑disciplinary teams in challenging environments.
18. Ability to travel to onshore testing/suppliers/customers sites may be required and offshore sites as an option if interested.
