 
        
        Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
Join to apply for the Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine role at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust is seeking to appoint a substantive Consultant in Respiratory and General medicine to join 13 existing consultants for a 6‑month fixed term period.
The Respiratory Department is highly successful and nationally renowned. Each of the existing consultants has a strong general respiratory background with sub‑specialty interests in lung cancer, mesothelioma, sleep‑disordered breathing, non‑invasive ventilation, pulmonary physiology, interstitial lung disease, medical thoracoscopy, COPD and asthma. The trust has established EBUS, bronchoscopy and medical thoracoscopy services, and both Winchester and Basingstoke sites are supported by a visiting thoracic surgeon.
Responsibilities
 * Support the existing respiratory outpatient services across our hospitals with a base at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital for inpatient services.
 * Provide ward cover and inpatient clinical governance, including ward rounds, board rounds and supporting ward referrals.
 * Attend ambulatory clinic and fellow appointments as required.
 * Run three outpatient clinics weekly and up to two endoscopy sessions per week (bronchoscopy/EBUS) depending on skill and interest.
 * Attend multidisciplinary team meetings for lung cancer, ILD, sleep, and community COPD.
The post holder will be required to fulfil the requirements of the Royal College of Physicians and the General Medical Council for continuing education, clinical governance, personal development and audit. Programmed activity is available to facilitate this.
Job plan is based on 10 Personal Attendance (PA) points, with an example 8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA schedule.
