About the role
Hello, and thank you for your interest in our Regulatory Manager position. The critical purpose of the role is to be the business expert and lead in product regulatory compliance and trading law, for own brand products and legal sale of own brand and branded products. To be accountable for interpretation of legislation and for advice to business stakeholders. Contribution to compliance strategy for Waitrose. Lead successful implementation including training where appropriate. Creation of effective policies, ways of working and measuring compliance. To maintain a network of experts in a similar field across the business and externally. To manage 2nd and 3rd Party providers within scope of role.
At a glance:
* Salary: £57,000.00 - 84,600.00 per annum
* Contract type: This is a permanent opportunity
* Hours and location of the role:
o 35 hours per week
o Your home location will be our Bracknell Head Office
o The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team attend the office one day a week to connect and attend key meetings on an ad-hoc basis.
Key responsibilities:
* Review and interpret legislation impacting the safety, labelling, advertising, and legal sale of Waitrose products to develop policies, procedures, and guidance that enable compliance, supporting the Technical Department and wider Waitrose teams.
* Manage and respond to legislation enquiries, identifying means for legal compliance, safe, and legal trading within areas of control.
* Serve as a subject matter expert (SME), providing advice and guidance to the business to maintain legal trading.
* Ensure business systems and processes facilitate legal products and trading.
* Participate in co-ownership, share knowledge, and contribute to the improvement of the Partnership.
* Invest in personal and professional development, actively engaging with and contributing to your profession.
* Take responsibility for actively engaging with change.
Essential skills and/or experience:
* A science-based or law degree.
Desirable skills and/or experience:
* Further qualification in Consumer and Trading Standards.
* Chartered Trading Standards Practitioner status.
* Regulatory Affairs experience in a commercial setting.
