Role Description
This is an on‑site contract role for an Independent Prescribing Pharmacist, based in Burnley. The pharmacist will conduct patient consultations to prescribe and monitor weight loss medications, ensuring treatments align with evidence‑based protocols. Key responsibilities include reviewing patient medical histories, collaborating with healthcare professionals, providing medication counselling, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Contribution to patient records and participation in the clinic’s multidisciplinary approach to health and wellness will also be required.
Qualifications
* Registration as a qualified Independent Prescribing Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical treatments, including weight management drugs
* Proficiency in patient assessments, medical history reviews, and prescribing appropriate treatments
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear, compassionate patient guidance
* Familiarity with healthcare regulations and experience maintaining accurate clinical records
* Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
* Exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
* Experience in weight management or related healthcare fields is an advantage
