Clerical Officer - Health Records Band 2
NOTE: Please be advised that the start date for the successful candidate will be into the new financial year (May 2026 onwards). The exact timing will be confirmed at offer stage.
Fulltime positions comprising of 5 x 7.5 Hours shifts per week - Monday to Friday 0830 -1700 (1 hour for lunch) or Monday to Friday 1330-2200 (1 hour break) - fixed term for 6 months
This post is based at Pilgrim Hospital and flexibility is required to cover absent colleagues as required.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit Health Records clerks to join our administrative teams. Working within our busy environment you will carry out Health Records duties as part of the wider Outpatients team, assisting in the daily provision of a professional health records service ensuring patients, relatives and visitors receive the best possible service.
The role will involve the filing, locating, retrieval and preparation of patient casenotes, to ensure that national waiting times are adhered to. Advising staff by telephone and dealing with their enquires is also a key part of this role.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of education with at least 2 GCSE's (grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Maths Or an NVQ2 or equivalent in relative subject, i.e. Customer Care Skills
* Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* CLAIT or European Computer Driving Licence.
* Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Previous Experience
* Experience of working with the general public in a customer facing capacity
* Experience of working in an office environment
* Knowledge or experience of NHS working
* Excellent customer care skills
* Excellent time management skills, the ability to adhere to strict deadlines
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and work on own initiative with variable and unpredictable demands
* Ability to jointly plan work with other members of the team
* Good organisation skills with the ability to work to a consistently high standard both individually and as part of a team
* Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations
* Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for own actions
