About the role:
A Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gauges and other testing and measuring equipment. The goal of a Calibration Technician is to ensure the accuracy and precision of the measurements taken using this equipment.
This is a full time, permanent role within our QHSE department.
Primary responsibilities
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions and ISO17025
* Carry out daily systems checks
* Schedule internal calibration of manual measuring equipment in accorfance with SOPS0065E and/or applicable specifications
* Schedule internal calibration of pressure gauges, temperature gauges & ovens in accordance with SOPS0065E and/or applicable specifications
* Arrange external calibration of measuring equipment
* Arrange external calibration of machinery
* Raise Purchase requisitions for replacement equipment
* Produce and maintain accurate calibration records and certificates
* Maintain Online calibration register
* Highlight calibration failures to team leaders & managers
* Maintain records of missing calibrated equipment
* Assisting with internal/external audits where necessary
* Assisting with maintenance of furnaces
* Develop, review, and audit calibration procedures.
* Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and clients.
* Responsible for housekeeping within calibration and QHSE department.
* Working on nightshift or shift work when required to do so.
* Participate in Toolbox or Team Talks.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications and Experience
* A relevant engineering qualification OR calibration experience.
* Strong understanding of calibration principles (both practical & theoretical).
