About the role
Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship - Cleethorpes. As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service. You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.
Key duties include
* Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
* Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
* Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
* Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
* Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
Qualifications
GCSEs at A–C or 4–9 or equivalent, in Maths and English. Some previous customer service experience is desired and must be based within 30 minutes of the pharmacy (please indicate driving ability on your CV).
Personal qualities & skills
A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people, strong communication and customer service skills, good attention to detail, willingness to learn, ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment, reliable, punctual and professional, basic IT skills.
Training and apprenticeship
Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.
Apprenticeship details
* Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship
* Duration: Typically 15 months
* Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning
* Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours
Future prospects
This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
