About The Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the smooth and welcoming operation of the shop.
Note: You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Start your day in store by checking your delivery routes.
2. Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery to customers.
3. Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road safety, health, and safety standards.
4. Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
5. Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
6. Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* IT literate.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
