The role

Lewisham Adult Social Care is looking to recruit an Advice and Information Officer in our busy, newly formed front door ‘Gateway’ Team. Playing a key role in achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable adults in our Borough you will be responsible for screening of the contacts into the service, answering to phone calls and dealing with email enquiries from the members of the public.

About the team

As a member of the ‘Gateway’ you will be part of a friendly team identifying pathways, working alongside a much wider group of professionals from across the partnership spectrum to promote safety and well-being. Much of your work will be around making decisions around complexity and identifying next steps. The team very much takes a strength based approach to interventions and you will contribute to that way of working.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for staff who can:-

1. Effectively respond, triage and coordinate enquiries received within Adult Social Care bringing them to an effective resolution.
2. Progress urgent contacts including safeguarding to the relevant teams.
3. Gather and record information required to form a referral to adult social care.
4. Undertake such follow up work as necessary.
5. Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary service
6. An ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload.
7. Excellent communication skills and effective negotiating skills.
8. A flexible and adaptable approach to work and being a team member.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis
