Design Engineer (AutoCAD / SolidWorks
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. This role combines office-based design work with hands-on site involvement, giving you the opportunity to see your designs come to life. You will be responsible for designing structural solutions and supporting projects across the local area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
2. Design and develop structural components and systems
3. Attend site visits to take measurements, assess conditions, and support installations
4. Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients
5. Modify and improve designs based on site requirements and feedback
6. Ensure all designs meet industry standards and safety regulations
Requirements
7. Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
8. Background in structural design or engineering
9. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
10. Comfortable working both in an office and on-site environments
11. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
12. Good communication and teamwork abilities
13. Full UK driving licence (preferred)

14. Experience with structural steel, frameworks, or building systems
15. Knowledge of local construction standards and regulations
16. Previous site experience
