The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will shape and deliver the Buying and Category Strategy for chilled food, ensuring a profitable and competitive range. Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and launching a compelling category range across branded and own-label products.
* Identifying and onboarding new suppliers while strengthening relationships with existing partners.
* Negotiating optimum cost prices, with a particular focus on major brands in the chilled food space.
* Managing price files and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Driving in-season promotional activity to maximise sales, margin, and supplier income.
The Person
We’re looking for a proven Buyer/Trader with experience in the Retail or Wholesale food sector. You will bring:
* A track record of managing a category end-to-end, delivering both sales and profitability.
* Strong supplier relationship skills, enabling you to implement strategy effectively.
* Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise, with the ability to secure competitive terms.
