The role working hours are predominantly Monday-Friday; however, you may be required occasionally to work late and weekends.
To assist the Upper GI and HPB Clinical Nurse Specialist Team within the daily management and support of people affected by Upper GI and HPB cancers regionally and nationally, who are receiving treatment and care at the Northern General Hospital.
The role is pivotal in providing an additional contact point for patients and their families/carers, ensuring seamless care as they progress along their cancer pathway and across provider organisations. The post holder will provide comprehensive support and information to patients and families affected by cancer, including navigation and coordination of supportive care and signposting to specialist resources to maximise care quality. Regular liaison between clinical and administrative team members, acting as a conduit between patients and healthcare professionals, is essential.
The post holder will be an active member of the CNS team, capable of working autonomously and prioritising workload, while knowing when to seek advice from senior colleagues. Close collaboration with Clinical Nurse Specialists, MDT members, and the wider team is essential to deliver a high-quality service.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed-term contract basis for 12 months due to external funding. The contract's duration will be reviewed based on ongoing funding sources and organisational requirements.
