Your Role & Responsibilities: Support nursery staff by setting play areas, activities and resources as instructed, including sensory play, crafts and age-appropriate games. Join in and support children’s play, helping to create a fun and engaging environment under staff guidance. Help maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the nursery, including tidying up after activities, wiping down surfaces and keeping communal areas organised. Assist staff during lunchtime routines, including cleaning eating areas and loading the dishwasher (Food & Hygiene training will be provided). Assist staff in reinforcing routines, including handwashing and transitions between activities, always modelling calm and respectful behaviour. Build positive, friendly relationships with children to help them feel settled and safe. Observe and report any safeguarding concerns or a child’s behaviour to the Nursery Manager or senior nursery staff without delay. Participate in relevant training provided by The Roberts Centre, including safeguarding, supporting children with additional needs and health and safety. Who We’re Looking For: Interest in children, child development and learning through play. Awareness of child development and behaviours (desirable). Awareness of nursery provision and early years support (desirable). Ability to follow instructions and routines consistently. Good communication skills and a helpful attitude. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to engage positively with young children in structured activities. Willingness to learn and attend training as needed.
