Role Summary
The Scientist will support the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the discovery and characterisation of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations.
The Impact you will have at Metsera
Under the guidance of the Research Director, the main roles will include:
* Executing and optimising assays to characterise Metsera's peptides and peptide formulations
* Developing novel assays to address future bioanalysis needs
* Developing quality control testing and characterisation assays
* Working with the Discovery and CMC Teams to address immediate peptide characterisation needs
* Maintaining accurate records of experiments and studies
* Analyzing large datasets and generating research reports
Additional duties may include
* Undertaking necessary training and development
* Assisting in laboratory and facility operations, including cleaning and maintenance
Qualifications and Experience
* MSc +2 years or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
* Wet lab experience in molecular biology with peptide or protein research background
* Experience with analytical methods and assays for peptides or proteins
* Experience with biological molecule characterization techniques such as LC (RP/SEC-HPLC), DLS/SLS
* Ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment
* Methodical approach with high standards
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexible and cooperative attitude
* Self-prioritization and minimal supervision capability
* Discipline and confidentiality awareness
Preferred Skills
* Experience with LCMS
* Experience in biotech start-up environment
