Freelance Video Editor (Podcast Content)
Location: Central London (minimum 2 days per week, hybrid)

Overview
We’re looking for a highly skilled Freelance Video Editor to support the creation of high-quality, performance-driven content across our video-first formats.
This role is ideal for a proactive editor who can take ownership of projects from brief through to delivery, combining strong storytelling instincts with technical precision. You’ll work closely with producers, social teams, and strategists to craft engaging content that resonates with audiences.
This is a collaborative freelance opportunity with consistent workflow, where creative input is valued and high standards are expected.
Key Responsibilities
Editing Delivery & Ownership
* Full-length YouTube episodes
* Short-form content, trailers, and social cutdowns
* Adhoc partnership - branded episodes, reads and social content
* Take full ownership of assigned edits from brief to final delivery
* Shape engaging narratives from longform conversations into high-retention content
* Ensure all edits meet brand, creative, and technical standards (sync, colour, audio, export)
* Craft trailers/segments with strong pacing, emotional build, and clear narrative arcs
* Collaborate with producers, social teams, and strategists to bring ideas to life
* Implement feedback quickly and consistently to improve output
Technical Workflow & Organisation
* Solid understanding of editing fundamentals: pacing, storytelling, sound, and colour
* Maintain clean, structured project files and timelines
* Apply consistent naming conventions and logical file organisation
* Manage version control meticulously for all edits
* Deliver multiple cutdowns and versions formatted for different platforms
* Follow templates, workflows, and technical specifications
* Ensure robust backup practices across local and cloud systems
Workflow Optimisation & Tools
* Work efficiently within Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and supporting tools
* Use Automation/AI-assisted tools (e.g. Opus, Artlist, Firefly, Descript) where appropriate
* Identify and suggest workflow improvements to increase speed and quality
* Stay updated on emerging editing techniques, tools, and social formats
Time & Project Management
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
* Proactively track deadlines and flag potential blockers early
* Deliver work on time without compromising creative quality
Skills & Experience
Required
* 3+ years of experience in video editing (in-house, agency, or freelance)
* Solid understanding of editing fundamentals: pacing, storytelling, sound, and colour
* Experience creating trailers, social content, or podcast-related edits
* Excellent communication and feedback implementation skills
* Experience working with branded content or media platforms
* Familiarity with performance-driven content (YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
* Ability to undertake animation and motion graphics
* Experience using Automation/AI tools in editing workflows
