Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Neurodevelopmental (ND) Services, with a particular focus on Autism and ADHD assessment pathways. The postholder will be a Doctoral-level Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, accredited/chartered by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or HCPC, with substantial clinical and leadership experience across child, adolescent, and adult mental health or neurodevelopmental services. This role combines clinical governance, service management, and multidisciplinary team leadership, with a strong customer-facing focus, ensuring the safe, effective, and neuroaffirmative delivery of high-quality services that meet client needs, contractual obligations, and organisational priorities.


Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Governance

* Provide strategic leadership for all neurodevelopmental services, embedding best practice in Autism and ADHD assessment and support.
* Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical governance frameworks, safeguarding practices, and quality standards.
* Ensure assessment and intervention pathways are evidence-based, neuroaffirmative, and aligned with NICE/HSE/NHS guidance.
* Oversee service evaluation, outcome measurement, and audit processes, driving continuous quality improvement.

Supervision & Workforce Development

* Provide clinical supervision to psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other clinicians within the ND service.
* Offer leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, reflective practice, and clinical excellence.
* Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, and retention across the ND and SpLD services.
* Support the professional development of clinicians in the use of ADOS, ADI-R, and other relevant assessment tools.

Service Delivery & Innovation

* Lead and manage multidisciplinary ND assessment services for children (7+) and adults.
* Support and conduct ADHD and Autism assessments and attend Multi-disciplinary team meetings.
* Ensure assessments and reports are delivered to the highest professional standard, with timely and accessible feedback for clients and families.
* Monitor service delivery against contractual, clinical, and organisational benchmarks.
* Act as a key clinical representative with external stakeholders, commissioners, and partners.
* Present clinical updates, webinars, and events to customers and professional audiences.
* Contribute clinical expertise to business development, service design, and partnership work.
* Ensure services are responsive to stakeholder needs and aligned with organisational strategy.

Requirements

* Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
* Accredited/chartered with PSI or registered with HCPC.
* Substantial post-qualification experience, including at Senior Psychologist level (or equivalent in HSE/NHS).
* Demonstrated leadership in neurodevelopmental and/or mental health services for children, young people, and/or adults.
* Proven track record in delivering clinical governance, safeguarding, and risk management.
* Experience of supervising psychologists and wider clinical professionals.
* Familiarity with ADOS, ADI-R, and multidisciplinary ND assessment frameworks.
* Evidence of service leadership, including evaluation, outcomes, and continuous improvement.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering webinars, events, or customer-facing clinical content.
* Excellent relationship management and team leadership skills.
* Experience working across both public and independent sector services.
* Published research or service evaluation in neurodevelopmental or mental health fields.
* Experience of contributing to regional or national service development.
