North Cancer Alliance Clinical Lead
North of Scotland Cancer Alliance is seeking a Clinical Lead to deliver quality care by fostering forward-thinking collaboration with the six Health Boards in the North of Scotland. The North regional team covers a large geographic area and a diverse population. The Clinical Lead will play a key role in fostering clinical partnerships and delivering regional objectives, alongside national initiatives.
Role arrangement
2 Sessions per week. Specific commitment and arrangements (secondment / additional payment) to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and strategic leadership within the North Cancer Alliance and the regional team to ensure regional objectives are achieved and national initiatives are implemented effectively within the area of responsibility.
* Lead and develop cancer services across the region, working across NHS Board boundaries to enable service redesign and change management in a complex environment.
* Contribute to prioritisation of future plans and delivery of the NCA programmes of work.
* Build and maintain strong professional and managerial relationships with stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
* Represent the NCA in clinical partnerships and ensure collaboration with six NHS Boards: Grampian, Highland, Orkney, Shetland, Tayside and Western Isles.
Qualifications and experience
* Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Health Professions Council, General Medical Council with a license to practice).
* Experience practicing within cancer services in the North of Scotland; background in medicine or surgery preferred, with demonstrable cancer care experience.
* Strong core leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrated ability to work across organisations and drive service improvement and change in a regional setting.
* Willingness and ability to travel as part of the role.
Other role details
* Backfill funding will be provided to the existing employer to enable release of clinical time to fulfil this role.
* You will be expected to travel by car or public transport as part of your duties.
* You will utilise high-level strategic, technical and communication abilities and build trusting relationships with clinical and managerial staff.
