The Social Media Content Manager is responsible for setting the overall strategic framework of how McCormick brands come to life across social media channels. They oversee all paid and organic content, input on critical partnerships, and work with multiple cross-functional teams to drive the business.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY: Build overarching social media strategy for relevant brands. The strategy should solve for how we drive deeper consumer engagement and 1:1 connections, taking into account emerging channels, cultural trends, and content insights.
2. PAID MEDIA & CAMPAIGNS: Collaborate with creative account teams & PR teams to develop content plans for all paid social media tactics and PR programs. Ensure creative is based on insights and key learnings. Coordinate with media agencies to meet campaign deadlines.
3. SOCIAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Lead the process of developing new social media content for new products, trends, and content gaps. Organize cross-functional brainstorms, work with internal teams and agencies to create content, attend pre-production meetings and photoshoots to ensure alignment with social best practices and brand tone. Lead quarterly content brainstorms for new creative ideas.
4. SOCIAL EDITORIAL PROCESS: Oversee monthly social media content planning to support business objectives. Ensure all posts meet social best practices, align with Brand Tone of Voice, and support business priorities.
5. COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT: Develop organic content plans, publish content, and manage community responses on social media.
6. ANALYTICS AND REPORTING: Conduct quarterly reporting on engagement, impressions, follower growth, and develop recaps for leadership.
7. TRENDS: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and platform capabilities, recommending innovative ways to connect with consumers.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
* Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Marketing, or Communications
* Relevant work experience or internships
* Strategic, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, able to handle high volume
* Experience with cross-functional teams
* Experience with management
* Strong knowledge of social insights tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) and adaptability to platform changes
* Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and platform innovations
* Experience managing multiple brands with distinct styles and tones is a plus
* Creative background in animated GIFs & social graphics (basic Photoshop and Adobe skills) is a plus
* Familiarity with social management tools (Hootsuite, Curalate, Crimson Hexagon, etc.) is a plus
* Knowledge of paid social analytics tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads Manager, etc.) is a plus
* Cooking or food ingredient knowledge is a plus
