Job Description
We are currently working with a secondary school in the Leeds area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in class. This is a full time role starting in September and working on an ongoing basis.\n\nIn this role, you will:\n\n * Work collaboratively within class under the direction of the class teacher.\n\n * Provide support to pupils in the classroom to facilitate their learning and personal development.\n\n * Assist in the management of pupils and the classroom environment.\n\n * Support pupils in meeting their personal needs, promoting independence and confidence.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum to pupils with SEND.\n\n * Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to suit individual needs.\n\n * Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils.\n\n * Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.\n\n * Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.\n\nWe are looking for candidates who:\n\n * Have experience working with children or young people, preferably with a range of SEND.\n\n * Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n\n * Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the needs of pupils.\n\n * Are proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.\n\n * Hold a relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).\n\nDue to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area.
