Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley, delivering projects throughout water and wastewater schemes across the UK.
Environmental Specialist responsibilities
* Identify specific environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from solution definition to completion.
* Support project teams to develop environmental risk mitigation measures, considering cost, time, compliance, safety and social impacts.
* Identify, plan and coordinate project environmental specialist inputs such as heritage, archaeology, ecology and geomorphology, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to required standards.
* Produce specific environmental deliverables at appropriate project milestones, including EIA screening assessments, material management plans and environmental management plans.
* Prepare applications for environmental permits and consents.
* Lead liaison with environmental regulators.
* Engage positively with clients on environmental and consenting matters, developing relationships and enhancing our reputation.
* Contribute to environmental improvement projects at local and regional levels.
* Assist in the production and delivery of training.
What youll need
* Chartered status with a relevant professional body or actively working towards chartership.
* Understanding of environmental disciplines and project risks in ecology, archaeology, drainage, geotechnical, contaminated land, landscape and noise; deeper knowledge in one area is desirable.
* Awareness of the planning process (preferably the water sector), including survey requirements and permits/consents for construction activities.
* Strong coordination skills to manage environmental aspects through high level planning, organisation and communication, ensuring successful project outcomes.
* Experience advising and promoting on project sustainability initiatives, including an understanding of biodiversity net gain.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
