Key Responsibilities
* Electrical systems development and integration support for the Powertrain Function Group, focusing on electrical/electronic systems in vehicle architecture, including transmission, engine, fueling, power electronics, cooling, HVAC, and climate control systems.
* Design of electrical integration aspects based on vehicle and certification requirements.
* Design of distributed system functions, signal databases, and interaction with UI systems related to Powertrain.
* Maintain logical vehicle models and capture system and component requirements.
* Guide proper location and packaging of control units and peripherals.
* Manage supplier technical deliverables, project plans, and issue resolution.
* Ensure compliance with legislative, certification, environmental, and EMC standards.
* Manage software features delivery with technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring process compliance.
* Prepare SFMEA documents for assigned systems.
* Participate in system reviews, verification, validation activities, including FMEAs, DVP, ISO26262, EMC testing.
* Conduct hands-on electrical development and testing, fault resolution, and issue management.
* Manage Tier 1 supplier relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service teams, including developing service procedures and diagnostics.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience in electrical systems and component delivery in automotive engineering.
* Understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies, MBSE experience preferred.
* Knowledge of electrical architectures, network, and diagnostic technologies.
* Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers, project documentation, risk management.
* Proficiency with CAN, LIN, vehicle diagnostics; experience with FlexRay, automotive Ethernet advantageous.
* Experience with APQP, Six Sigma, FMEA, DVP, PPAP, and product lifecycle activities.
* Self-motivated, articulate, able to work independently, and take ownership of systems.
* Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive engineering degree or equivalent experience.
* Full UK driving license; no restrictions for EU travel.
