Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) owns vessels and harbour infrastructure necessary for vital ferry services serving many communities throughout Scotland. We have big ambitions to transform the ferry network in Scotland. Backed by a five-year £580 million investment plan from Scottish Government, our plans to upgrade and improve ferries and harbours are already well underway. Due to expansion of our organisation, we are recruiting for a new position of a Senior Procurement Officer to strengthen the procurement team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to get involved in projects including the development of several ports and harbours, the construction of new piers and terminal buildings, and our ongoing vessel replacement programme. The Role The role will support our project teams to develop innovative procurement strategies, prepare high-quality tender documentation and undertake end-to-end tender exercises on behalf of the company. You will have a high degree of autonomy, and you will act as the procurement lead for the projects you’re involved with and will represent CMAL at external meetings. Your role will mainly focus on Works and Services contracts. What you’ll need to succeed CMAL requires a motivated, professional, and diligent individual with a proactive and creative approach and the ability to work independently and flexibly. We are particularly looking for people with the following skills, experience and attributes: · Hold a Level 4 Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification or are actively working towards this. · Experience of working in a procurement environment and, in particular, tendering for works and services contracts. · Experience and understanding of NEC and JCT contracts. · Able to communicate effectively and consult with people from varied disciplines to find the best procurement solution for their project. · The ability to plan and prioritise own workload on a daily basis, manage and complete tasks within tight timescales. · Working knowledge of the PCS and PCS-Tender e-procurement portals. · A team player who is capable of building strong, effective relationships both internally and externally. The work environment Our head office is located on the Clyde Estuary in Port Glasgow, offering a modern working environment with excellent road and public transport links.
