The role You will be responsible for leading and developing a Solution Architecture practice as part of the wider Architecture team, working collaboratively to design new solutions in line with the university digital architecture and university-wide strategies, plans and priorities. You will work in partnership with other teams across DTS and departments in the university, contributing to business change projects and initiatives, and providing expertise, guidance and leadership in the design, selection and development of appropriate solutions. Ideally, you will have significant experience in technical or solution architecture, with experience in management and leadership to support development of the team services (e.g. solution architecture frameworks, enterprise architecture tools etc). The Department Our Digital Technology Service has been configured not only to deliver excellent IT services, but also to drive major IT development and change. It is a large service focused on enabling, implementing and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University Community. This technology must be affordable, high quality, resilient and meet a broad range of needs. DTS is made up of a Digital Architecture team and a large Digital Strategy area, which includes Digital Delivery (Applications; Cloud, Networks and Infrastructure), IT Support and Digital Change. The Digital Architecture Team includes teams for Architecture, Digital Skills, and Cyber Security. The Architecture Team covers several areas including Enterprise, Business and Solution architectures, and includes some specialist domain knowledge around technology, applications, and data architecture. Solution Architects support and assist in projects to ensure that all aspects of requirements are understood, and the solution chosen fits these and is aligned to standards where possible. £44,263 to £56,021 per annum, dependent on experience
