The Role: Principal Designer
This role is suitable for individuals from a Design or Health and Safety background with at least 12 months of experience, seeking to develop their career in the Principal Designer role. The primary focus is on the CDM Principal Designer, with an expectation of a good understanding of the Building Safety Act and the responsibilities of a Principal Designer. Candidates should demonstrate solid knowledge of construction Health and Safety and a strong working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015.
The candidate should have experience in producing Pre-Construction Information Packs and other relevant CDM documentation. The role involves managing your own time to meet with stakeholders and manage workloads under the guidance of the National QHSE Manager. Travel within the UK is expected, primarily regionally, with periodic travel to London.
Key Responsibilities:
* Producing relevant CDM documentation.
* Supporting project delivery teams in managing construction design risk.
* Conducting site visits/audits to advise on Health and Safety improvements.
* Supporting the delivery of the CDM Principal Designer role.
* Driving improvements in supply chain Health and Safety.
* Supporting the wider QHSE team.
* Acting as a point of contact for project teams regarding CDM/Health and Safety matters.
Person Specification:
* Experience in a similar construction role.
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent; membership of IOSH at Graduate or Chartered level preferred.
* Design qualification and IMAPs or similar.
* Current UK driving license.
* Good organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills for engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Drive and enthusiasm with a willingness to learn, develop, and grow in the role.
