The Registration Service at East Riding Council is a unique and rewarding environment-one where people come to mark the most significant milestones of their lives.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is offering a full-time, permanent position within the heart of its Ceremony Team, based at County Hall, Beverley. You will support couples from the very beginning of their ceremony journey-guiding them through the booking process, preparing all legal documentation, and delivering the ceremony itself.
This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in excellent customer service and brings a calm, reassuring presence to every interaction. Full training will be provided to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the role.
To succeed, you will need to think on your feet, remain patient, and maintain exceptional attention to detail. You will hold legal responsibility for the ceremonies you conduct, requiring both empathy and professionalism. Strong IT skills are essential, as you will be using various software packages.
You will also play an important safeguarding role-remaining alert and raising concerns around forced, predatory, or sham marriages and civil partnerships, working closely with colleagues to protect those involved.
