Teaching Personnel are seeking a Male SEND Outdoor Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive team at a specialist school in Compton Dundon, near Somerton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on learning, outdoor education, and making a genuine difference to young people’s lives.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs in outdoor and classroom-based settings
Assisting teachers with lessons, activities, and learning plans
Encouraging personal development, communication, and social skills
Helping to deliver forest school and outdoor education sessions
Creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential)
Forest school or outdoor learning experience is highly desirable
A patient, energetic, and resilient approach to supporting learning
Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
