The Opportunity

We are recruiting nationally for both town planners and economists to supporting our growing socio-economics project teams across the country.

This is an exciting time to join Arup. We are experiencing significant growth in a wide range of infrastructure, impact assessment and strategy development work for our socio-economic business so are looking for talented town planners and economists to join our new national team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new chapter at Arup and help us grow our business. Across the UK we work on a wide range of projects including energy, water, roads, rail, ports, airports etc from project inception through to delivery on-site. You will be a key part of the team supporting delivery of a wide range of high-profile projects.

We do not pigeon-hole or work in siloes. As well as this exciting range of socio-economic projects, you will also be able to integrate into your local Arup office and work on a wide number of traditional town planning policy and consenting projects or economic evaluation and business case work. We believe this variety and flexibility is unmatched in our sector.

Is This Role Right For You?

We are looking for both town planners and economists across the Planner/Economist, Senior Planner/Economist, Principal Planner/Economist and Associate Planner/Economist grades. Key qualities we are looking for in candidates include:

Able to develop working relationships with town planners, economists and a range of other disciplines within an organisation and/or external forums. Multidisciplinary working is key.

Innovative thinkers who can take on bespoke challenges where there may not be existing precedent but work with others to develop new options and solutions.

Capable of managing a challenging and varying workload which can change at short notice.

Skills in leading and instructing a project team, managing client relationships.

Work winning skills including bid development, project commercials and interviews.
