About Me:
I am looking for people to support me in Canterbury, both at home and in my local community.
I enjoy spending time with animals, family & friends, going out to socialize, and learning new skills.
I need support all day in my home and community to develop independent living skills, stay safe, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and manage anxiety and specific challenges. I find time alone challenging and need caring support for these feelings.
I am starting a new chapter in my life in my own home, which is exciting and a bit scary. I need support to make the most of this opportunity from people excited to share this journey with me.
Shift Patterns:
This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is essential. You will work various shifts, including nights and some weekends. Flexible options like nights only or weekends only on part-time hours can be discussed.
**Potential earnings depend on additional shifts and sleep-ins where applicable.**
**Sleep-ins are not required in all services.**
**Earnings may vary as not all colleagues work overtime.**
Role Responsibilities:
* Support me in my home and community with care, patience, and understanding.
* Use mindful communication tailored to me.
* Assist during both good and challenging times.
* Work alongside multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and others.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism and mental health diagnoses.
* Resilient, patient, and understanding to build a strong bond over time.
* Consistent in support approach.
* Effective in using language to expand my opportunities.
Qualifications and Attributes:
* The right attitude and a good sense of humor!
* Motivated to support a busy schedule.
* Good attendance record.
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, including with other professionals.
This is a specialised supported living service in Canterbury with high standards. All necessary training will be provided locally before starting support.
