A friendly and inclusive primary school in Leamington Spa is seeking a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN specialists, teachers, or mental health professionals. You’ll gain invaluable, hands-on experience supporting pupils’ learning, development, and emotional wellbeing in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and social-emotional needs
* Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to boost engagement and progress
* Assist with strategies for behaviour and emotional regulation
* Promote awareness of mental health and emotional resilience
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create an inclusive environment
* Provide additional academic support in literacy, numeracy, and core subjects
Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant - Who We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from caring and motivated graduates who have:
* A minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
* A passion for supporting children’s learning and emotional wellbeing
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach
* (Desirable) Experience working with children or young people – e.g. mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or SEN support
* Clear interest in careers such as educational psychology, counselling, teaching, or child development
