James Brennan Associates is looking for a land surveyor to join the team based in beautiful Bakewell, Derbyshire. We specialise in high quality surveys for a wide range of clients working on historic buildings and exclusive residences throughout the UK. We survey, measure & monitor to produce high quality plans, sections, elevations, Sketchup, 3D Revit Models, Augmented Reality visualisation Models and Building Information Models (BIM). We work throughout the UK, utilising the latest 3D laser scanning technology, backed up by a wealth of survey expertise and experience.
This is an exciting role that will provide involvement and experience in a wide range of surveying skills, with a specific focus of providing high quality survey products for the historic environment. It will involve leading survey projects alone and as part of a team and having individual week to week responsibilities. The role involves travel and occasional overnight stays around the UK, thus a full drivers license is essential.

Desired Skills and Experience
* Good competence in AutoCAD, survey and laser scanning software
* High quality and discipline with all surveying, data output and drawings
* Experience of topographical surveys
* Good experience of measured building surveys
* Experience of 3D laser scanning
* Good problem solving, self-management and people skills
* Full driving licence required
* Freedom to travel over the whole UK with some overnight stays
* Good enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude
* Helpful additional items:
* Understanding of historic buildings – but training can be provided
* Member of, or working towards membership of RICS or CICES desirable but not essential
* Competent use of Trimble laser scanners
* Competent use of Trimble Realworks, Leica Cyclone
